But hold on, what exactly does “Patio” mean? Well, it’s a Spanish word that, if you were to translate into English, would simply be “courtyard.” But you could also simply say “patio.” Yes, it is the exact same word in English. That’s also the same word Spanish speakers use for courtyard, playground, and schoolyard.
So what is a Patio Chum, then? It’s a friendship blossoming among a few guys in an imaginary schoolyard – friendly, genuine, naive and sometimes quiet. In short, it’s a musical playground where the sole purpose is to have a good time and be present. There are no other pretensions, nor there will ever be, just pure musical camaraderie.
But, of course, as the school bell rings, these Patio Chums scatter back to their daily chores, until the next patio brings them together again.

This journey of Patio Chum took flight back in late 2018, spontaneously forming as a duo after countless jam sessions in a bedroom located in Berlin Friedrichshain. Oh, the memories!
Fast forward to today, after releasing a few studio productions (EP, single, single) and gracing venues and festivals both in and beyond Berlin, Patio Chum is evolving into a live trio formation. With high-energy and danceable musical escapades, we’re here to create moments and we hope you will join us too.
